Member Services Representative I

Full Time w/ Benefits

 

We are looking for enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals who will be dedicated to providing exceptional service to our membership.

The individual in this role will be responsible for performing member service and teller functions, and administrative support in the lending department. Position holder assists members promptly and professionally, and builds member relationships by providing quality service and recommending products and services to meet the members’ financial needs.


  • Receive and assist members in person and on the phone.

  • Knowledgeable about products and services the credit union offers.

  • Handle a variety of member service functions to include opening accounts, check orders, file maintenance and account changes.

  • Assists Department with clerical and secretarial duties; completes required reports.

  • Process member transactions to include deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments and cash advances, selling money orders and cashier’s checks. Posting and balancing transactions and verifying cash and check totals.

  • Maintain strict privacy regarding member account information.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

  • Work Saturday Branch teller-rotation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • One (1) year related experience 

  • Prefer experience in a full-service credit union.

  • Must be bondable

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal

  • Excellent math skills and accuracy handling cash.

  • Ability to understand and apply detailed procedures and information about all products/services.

  • Ability to operate all related computer applications and business equipment including calculator, copier, phone and fax.

Position holder assists members promptly and professionally with excellent service, and builds strong member relationships by providing quality service and recommending products and services to meet the members’ financial needs. The individual in this role will be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of member services in person and on the phone, at a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

  •  Processing member transactions to include deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments and cash advances, selling money orders and cashier’s checks.

  •  Posting and balancing daily transactions and verifying cash and check totals.

  • Complying with all applicable rules, regulations and policies.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Working Monday thru Friday and Saturday Branch rotation.

  • Able to travel between local branch locations as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum six (6) months cash handling and customer service experience. Prefer experience in the financial services industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; willingness to assist others; excellent math skills and accuracy handling cash.

  • Ability to understand and apply detailed procedures and information about all products and services.

  • Ability to operate related computer applications and office equipment including calculator, copier, scanner, telephone, fax and money-counting machine.
