· EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: MUST HAVE COLLEGE ACCOUNTING DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE.
· REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and procedures. Strong knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications. Understanding of Credit Union information flow and processes.
· REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year of experience in account reconciliation at a Credit Union or financial institution.
· SKILLS/ABILITIES: Well organized and detail oriented. Good math skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Cooperative and willing to assist others. Able to use PC, calculator and other basic office/business equipment. Responsible for reviewing, balancing and posting daily work entries to the general ledger. This includes teller work, ATM reports, VISA Credit and MasterCard Debit transactions and adjustments. Daily balancing of the general ledger through the end of month to provide accurate financial statements; maintaining the automated accounting system records, reconciliations and end of month reports as is required by NCUA. Assists with debit card hard and software, security, and product development. Is familiar with accounts payable, share draft processing, EFT processing and payroll deductions. Researches exceptions and questions arising from reports and completes special projects as assigned by the vice president or president.
